Care Guide

The basics, for every piece

  • Wash at 30°C or cooler with a mild detergent.
  • Avoid friction: never wash them with jeans or with items that have zips or velcro. Wash them on their own or with other soft pieces, ideally in a laundry bag. Friction is what causes pilling.
  • Turn your garment inside out before washing to protect color and fabric.
  • No bleach or harsh chemicals.
  • Never tumble dry. Always let them air dry. It's gentler on the fabric and on the planet.
  • Store folded or hanging to keep the shape.

Why it matters

A large part of a garment's environmental footprint after it leaves us comes from how it's washed and dried. Washing at low temperatures and air drying use less energy, and they're also what keeps natural fibers at their best. Your clothes last longer, and fewer need to be made.
